I know it’s been quite a while since the last update and I just wanted to let you know where the site stands and what’s been going on.
Basically – Life is time-consuming. I’m sure more of you will agree with me on that. While I started EvnTide with the intent of covering the most immediate, daily visual-novel related news, I found that I just can’t keep up with it as much as I’d like to. There are a multitude of visual novels that are released, or put on kickstarter, or on greenlight, and I just don’t have the time to cover them how I’d like.
I want to be helpful to visual novel creators and enthusiasts, and I’m just not doing as good a job of it. I apologize especially for the kickstarter folks who’ve contacted me for coverage and I’ve either been super late with responding or have not had the chance to check it out.
I want to go back to the basics with EvnTide, in the hopes that I can still provide a great environment for people to find out about visual novels. Maybe it won’t be as time-sensitive as I’d promised or as fast as previous posts had been, but I still want to do this.
I personally love visual novels. I think it’s a fascinating medium where you can create your own world and provide the player with a story that immerses them from start to finish. I want to continue to play and talk about the visual novels I play because I think discovering new games to play is important, especially for aspiring game developers who are anxious for feedback and opinions on the things they create.
I’m toning it back. When I finish a visual novel, I’ll write about it and let you guys know what I think. For visual novel news and kickstarters, tweet @bluebirdplays and I’ll retweet, comment, and do what I can to let my audience know about it.
You’ll see a few page changes on the site as I scale back and focus on reviewing games over posting news, but yes, EvnTide will be back and in action very soon. I already have a game I intend to write about 🙂
Till next time!
