Featured Game – NanoLife
NanoLife by Circle Pegasi is a bite-size game with heart, exploring the concepts of MMORPGS and games that no player thought to ask. It doesn’t take long to complete all 3 endings, but nevertheless felt rewarding and thoughtful all throughout.
- Short, Adventure, Meta(??)
“While a thunderstorm rages outside, a boy excitedly boots up a new MMORPG for the first time. After fiddling around with the character creator for a while he’s finally ready to play with his new character. However, just as he’s about to press the submit button, lighting strikes!
As a result of the lightning strike the power goes out, and he’s forced to sit and wait in frustration. What he doesn’t realize is that his character has already begun playing without him…” – Excerpt from Website.
Looking for VNs on Mobile?
Sometimes I feel like the best way to play a visual novel is on your phone rather than on the computer. There’s just something easier about tapping a screen than tapping keys that makes reading more enjoyable. Or maybe that’s just me. Anyway, that’s how I came across NanoLife, available on Google Play for Android phones.
A Different Look at MMORPGS
Do you remember the golden age of MMORPGS? The World of Warcraft-ish games of yore, where killing monsters, collecting items, and gaining levels were the norm? I remember those days very well. NanoLife depicts the protagonist in such a game world, confused about the way things are. Why do you need to kill those cute-looking monsters? Why can’t an NPC say anything beyond what they’re programmed to say?
Cute Story, Engaging Characters
Though NanoLife is relatively short, it’s a great introduction to visual novels on the mobile platform. It’s short, easy to digest, and great to play at the doctor’s office while you’re waiting to be checked in! I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
