Detective Butler is now on Steam Greenlight!
The first in a series of proposed games featuring a detective who enjoys solving puzzles AND CATCHING MURDERERS, this FREE kinetic visual novel took me 8 hours to play. Developed by Goldbar Games, Detective Butler is one of the longest visual novels I’ve played in my casual….casualness. And really, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In 1962, a popular cruise ship goes out of business after the accidental deaths of two of its passengers. The ship remains a tourist attraction, until it sets sail again half a century later.
The CEO of a wealthy company takes his closest employees and son Gilligan on board for the maiden voyage. Gilligan happens to meet Detective Butler during the cruise, and as the two of them delve deeper into the ship’s history, another incident occurs… Will Detective Butler find the culprit before it’s too late? And will you be able to solve the mystery before the solution is revealed?
While the game has been complete for a few years now, the developer touched up on the game by adding a special extended ending and epilogue for this release, along with listening to player feedback and improving where they could.
